Feedback

This is the feedback area, where you can comment on ideas for the blog, including the layout, content, and what to post. If you have a problem, theologically, with something I posted, feel free to post it here. This is also a place where I can issue announcements for the blog, such as layout changes, changes to the way it works, etc. If you have a question/comment/suggestion/complaint, that you do not want to be put up here in public, feel free to E-mail me at youthofeternity@gmail.com.  I am also available for Gmail chat at that address if you want to send me an invite.

I would appreciate it if you comment on:

Generic:

  • Ideas on what to post. This will save me a bit of time, plus help me to deliver better content.
  • Comments on the grammar, spelling, or theological accuracy of any of my posts.
  • Questions, comments, and suggestions related to the technical aspects of this blog
  • References to other similar blogs (written by Rebelutionaries), for mine, and my reader’s viewing.

Specific:

  • I would be fascinated if you would share your testimony of how the message of “do hard things” changed your life!

  1. Hey Trey,
Eric Brown’s blog is very good. There is actually a link from the rebelution.com for it. The web address is, ecbrownblog.com . Hope you enjoy.

  2. Yeah, he has actually commented on my blog. I have not subscribed to his blog, though. I’ll do that.

  3. I came across this while researching a project – may help you with the chat box problem. I’ve never used any of the suggested ones, but if you can find a flash-only chat box on one of them, it should work.

  4. WordPress used to support them. I just did some research, and, unless I can host it myself, which I am currently not able to do, I will not be able put one up. thanks, anyway! :D

  5. Hey Trey
How do you put the links to the next post and the previous post at the bottom of the post you’re currently looking at? (if you click on the title of any post and go to the bottom of it, you’ll see what I mean)

  6. I have absolutely no idea, Meshaay. I recently noticed that it was there, I have no idea how I put it there. I assumed all blogs were like that. Sorry. :D

  7. Meshaay, assuming that we’re talking about WordPress.com blogs, next and previous post links vary from template to template. There’s not any way to change it since WordPress.com won’t let you change the template code. I specify WordPress.com because when one has a self-hosted blog using WordPress software, one is able to change templates and have chat rooms.

  8. Yes, we do like to hang out on the chat room. But now that I have gmail we don’t need to do that any more! I really like gmail. The weird part is that all my contacts are guys. Which is really strange for me. Not that I don’t hang out with guys, just having a big group of guy friends without a single girl never happens to me. Well I am adding one of my very close friends from church today. I should go do that.

  9. (MODERATOR NOTE:)

    No advertisements, please.

  10. One thing I would suggest is spacing out your paragraphs and making more of them. It makes it easier to read your posts because they don’t seem quite as “dense” visually. Large blocks of text make the eye want to skip to the next paragraph.

One post I can think of that is an example of the large blocks of text is the slavery post you posted recently. While you had several good points, they seemed “buried” in the large block of text.

Smaller blocks of text, such as your FOCA post, help your points have more impact because they are set apart by the paragraph spacing.

I hope you find that useful. :)

  11. Wow. Thanks, Anna, that does help. :D I’ll keep that in mind in the future.

  12. Why does WordPress give people such negative-looking icons/avatars? Is there any way to change them?

    • haha, yes, there is. I thought they were hilarious. But I’ll change them at your request.

      • Gracias, senor. I wouldn’t mind a SMILING one if you wanted. :)

        • They don’t have any smiling ones… go figure… :-/
